Packers 2011 Schedule Has Holiday Flavor

The NFL has released the Green Bay Packers 2011 schedule.  In a matchup of the last two Super Bowl winners, the Packers will entertain the New Orleans Saints Thursday, September 8 to kick off the 2011 NFL season.

All eyes will be on Green Bay that night, provided the NFL lockout ends in time for the season to begin as it normally does, the week after Labor Day.  The game will be telecast by NBC.

The Packers will then have an extra long week of preparation heading into a week two matchup at Carolina.

Green Bay fans will have a chance to enjoy the holidays at Lambeau Field, with a Sunday night matchup against their NFC North rivals, the Chicago Bears, set for Sunday, December 25 and a game against the Detroit Lions at noon on New Year’s Day.

The Packers will be the first team in NFL history to play on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.

The team will play three of its last four at Lambeau Field.

The release of the Packers 2011 schedule gives fans something to chew on before the next big NFL off-season event, the NFL Draft.  Click the link below to view the entire schedule including times, TV network and more:
